Book your Fall Family Photos in Chattanooga Early!

As I mentioned, fall is a very popular time for photos in this area. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but many families like to schedule an annual session in order to use some of the portraits on their yearly Christmas card. If you have a specific photographer in mind, reach out in the summer. I personally release my fall calendar to my email list by the end of July. Most of my fall slots fill up before the start of the school year. Personally, between school activities, my daughters’s birthdays, and all the holidays my availability is limited. I also like to keep room on my calendar for re-schedules in case of bad weather.

Fall Foliage Timing

Wondering when fall colors are at their peak? This timing can honestly vary from year to year. Last year the colors came far earlier than expected. Most typically, the fall color peak between the end of October and the first half of November. However, even into the second half of November, pretty pockets of color can be found around the area. Plan for Any Temperature

One of the most unpredictable parts of outdoor fall family photos in Chattanooga is the weather. While we generally have plenty of dry days, the temperature can vary wildly. Occasional cold snaps can come through, pulling in freezing temperatures. The next week, we may be sweating in 80 degree weather. This can make wardrobe planning a challenge. My biggest piece of advice is to have an outfit plan for both cold and warm weather. Need help planning your session with me? I believe that outfits make a huge impact on the feel of your portraits. Therefore I offer a client closet and also provide wardrobe consultations as part of the planning process.
