Heirloom

"Kelley is WONDERFUL. She was so great with our daughter and was also so patient with us during the process of choosing which photos we wanted. Highly recommend!! We will definitely be going back to Kelley in the future."

Let's Fill Your Walls With the Faces You Love!

Heirloom portraits are traditionally meant to be framed and hung on the wall or displayed on side tables. A true heirloom is tangible and built to withstand the test of time.  I intentionally sought out a framer with the highest quality for my offerings. The print products I offer with my heirloom portrait sessions are archival quality and made to last 100+ years with proper care.

Many moms come to me because I offer a customized service with an emphasis on printed products and working with active children in a way that gets results you'll want to hang on your walls. Trying to get a toddler to stay on a backdrop may seem like an impossible venture, but trust me, I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve.  Let's make some tangible art together. Sessions with me include:

  • Set up appropriate backdrops and flattering lighting.
  • You'll receive access to me for an optional wardrobe planning consult to assist with choosing outfits that will photograph beautifully for the session.
  • Online or in person proofing options are available, allowing you to only purchase the images you absolutely fall in love with.  These images will receive a detailed, professional retouching. No need to worry that scratch your toddler got on his face the morning of our photography session.  I provide thorough, but natural edits to my images, taking care of things like fly away hairs.
  • I'll guide you through custom album and wall art design and ordering.  Need help deciding where your images should be hung in your house?  Not sure what size best suits your room?  I'm happy to make a house call to help you plan the perfect wall art.
Traditional heirloom portraits are typically taken in the early years, before children start losing their baby teeth.  However, in my opinion, it's a classic style that's beautiful at any age.  The simplicity of the white backdrop draws the viewer's eye directly to the face of your loved one.  We can schedule this session type at any age.  However, if a baby has limited head control, I will likely recruit a parent to be wrapped up in a white sheet to over support. (Don't worry, I'll edit you out of the final image.)

These sessions are most popular at major milestones such as 6 months, 9 months, 1 years, 2 years, and 3 years.

If you are considering creating a composite from your heirloom portrait session, there are again multiple options.  We can choose 3-5 images from a single session. We can mix and match images of multiple siblings. Scheduling multiple sessions over the course of a year or even 3 years is another beautiful way to document your child's growth.  I've created composites from 6 month, 12 month, and 18 month milestones as well as from 1st, 2nd and 3rd birthdays! Your artwork is custom and therefore the options are endless!
