Chattanooga Milestone Photo Session: Turner at 8 Months

As I pulled into Ben and Katherine’s driveway for Turner’s Chattanooga milestone photo session, I couldn’t help but think about when I visited their home to take pictures of their two oldest boys with Turner’s ultrasound for a pregnancy announcement. Now he’s the most charming little 8 month old. Isn’t life magical? I just love watching families grow and develop over what feels like such a short span of time. Turner was only a “thought” and now he’s a vital member of their family and I’m sure it’s hard to really remember life before him.

This is part of why I’m passionate about photographing young families. Change comes so rapidly and I love being able to “freeze” and capture these brief, precious moments of life. (Make sure you scroll to the bottom and mark the changes that span less than a year and a half.)

I think Katherine gets it. The upstairs walls of her house were filled with beautiful, framed prints from previous family sessions. Honestly, she inspired me to make planning out gallery walls of my own young family a priority on my to-do list before I return to work from my maternity leave.

Little Turner was an absolute joy to photograph. He had woken up extra early that morning (of course), but Katherine decided to go ahead with the shoot. He was full of the sweetest smiles. I also particularly enjoyed catching up with Katherine and discussing my experience thus far as a mother of three kiddos. She may have all boys and I may have all girls, but we share the common daily goal of keeping our youngest offspring safe from the hijinks of our two older offspring. I think she would agree that it’s pretty much a full time job at this stage.

Here are some of my favorites from our session, plus some shots from our sessions in the fall of 2020 and 2019.
