How fun are these Gordon Lee High School cap and gown portraits? Any Gordon Lee High School Senior Photographer would agree, working with these girls was a total treat! I first met Kaylee last month when I photographed her before the Gordon Lee Prom. This time I met Kaylee and her BFF Marida in Chickamauga at their high school to take some cap and gown photos to celebrate their graduation. (If you follow along on this blog, I’m sure you can imagine me doing a little extra happy dance when I realized their cap and gowns were white. I do love a light colored outfit that makes my subject pop.)

Honestly, I love that these besties decided to take pictures together. Let’s be honest, having pictures taken solo feels awkward. Bringing along a friend to laugh with and pose with makes the whole experience much more fun. They are both headed to Kennesaw State University together in the fall. This combo felt especially fitting.
Both girls accomplished a lot as athletes during their time at Gordon Lee. They both brought tokens from their athletic careers to this shoot. Marida featured her letterman jacket and state championship rings for competitive cheerleading. Kaylee showed off all of her medals from track and field. I giggled at Kaylee as she complained about burning muscles while her parents arranged the medals on her outstretched arms. I snapped as quickly as I could. Evidently, we didn’t cause too much damage because she won state for pole vault (and high jump) two days later.
Indeed, I love working with high schoolers to capture fun events and senior portraits. Senior year is such an exciting season of life.
