Soddy Daisy Newborn Photos – The Hills

Katie scheduled these Soddy Daisy newborn photos after we did a family photo session together this past fall. During the planning of that session, she let me know she was expecting this babe, sweet Louis. We took some announcement pictures as part of that shoot. I gave birth to my third child in between these two sessions, so it’s been fun to compare our experiences as our families grow.

I loved spending time with the Hills again. Big sister Violet had all sorts of questions about the equipment I was setting up. Her dad joked that I was having to give her a photography session on top of taking newborn photos. Big brother Wesley was just plain excited to have a visitor and wanted to tell me all about his toys.

Near the end of our session, Baby Louis started to get a little restless and Wesley was in the thick of it. To buy me some more time, Katie started asking Wesley to retrieve specific cars and trucks for her. “Bring me a purple car.” “Go find me a car with a person in it. Oh you found that quickly. Bring me a blue car.” It worked like a charm and I was super impressed by her quick thinking. My own sleep deprived brain would not have worked that quickly.

Louis was a calm, content newborn. Hopefully he’ll continue to fit the stereotype of the chill third child. He’ll certainly have plenty of entertainment from his older siblings. Here are some of my favorites from this session of Soddy Daisy newborn photos. I love photographing sweet, squishy newborns and their families. For more information about scheduling a newborn session with me, click here.
