Signal Mountain Newborn Photographer

As a Signal Mountain Newborn Photographer, I need to be honest: these sessions are not always as serene as they appear. Sometimes our session happens to be scheduled in a growth spurt when cluster feeding is the name of the game. Sometimes mom and baby have had a really rough night before our morning session and everyone is a little grumpy. Those first months, there is no schedule! Our attempt at picking a good session time is a shot in the dark at best. Will the baby sleep the whole time? Will the baby be wide awake?

The Dowlens did a great job of going with the flow during their newborn session. Piper was wide awake at the start and started to fuss after we got a few pictures of her posed in her crib. We took a break for her to be fed. With some rocking and cuddles, she drifted off into a peaceful sleep, allowing us to capture lots of snuggles and individual portraits. Once she was asleep, we decided no to disturb her for elaborate outfit changes. I’m so glad we didn’t, because by the end of the session, she was waking up and ready to be fed again.

I loved getting to meet Piper. I was thrilled when the Dowlens contacted me about being their Signal Mountain Newborn Photographer. We went to the same church and attended the same small group long before any of us had children. It was so sweet to witness them in these early days of transitioning parenthood. Piper is certainly treasured and deeply loved. Welcome to the world, sweet girl!
