Coolidge Park Portrait Session

Nancy and Caesar absolutely lucked out with the weather for their Coolidge Park portrait session. We have had a January of wet, dreary, cold days. On the day of their photoshoot, the sun was shining and it almost felt warm. It was a good thing too, because shortly after I started photographing Nancy, she confessed that her shoes were not going to work. In a rush to leave the house, she could not find the shoes she had planned on wearing and grabbed some heels instead that were now killing her feet. Like a trooper, she proceeded with the session shoe-less; wearing her husband’s socks (she may kill me for writing this). Examine the photos closely, but I think we did a really good job of hiding them.

These two are so ready to meet their little man. Their faces absolutely lit up when they talk about him. Caesar claimed that he officially won two battles. He’s having the boy he wanted and they are naming him Caesar Julian. Nancy said the name is too traditional, but they have found a compromise in calling him “CJ”.

Nancy and Caesar were somewhat new to the Chattanooga, TN area, so I had a fun time introducing them to Coolidge Park. They had visited Downtown on several occasions, but didn’t know the park existed. Nancy’s looked stunning in her blue dress and Caesar noted that she perfectly matched the bridges in the background.

Part of the fun during this shoot for me was that Nancy trusted my vision completely. When I told her I had found some “pretty grass” that I wanted to use, she was in. With the sunset glowing through the fluffy stems, she quickly saw the same beauty in it and fully jumped into posing. The results are pretty magical.
